Four Cardinal Doctrines

Four Defining Truths of the Assemblies of God

The Assemblies of God is built upon 16 Fundamental Truths that have remained largely unchanged since the Fellowship’s founding. Four of these beliefs are considered our core, or cardinal, doctrines. These defining truths shape our message, worship, teaching, and mission.

Salvation Through Jesus Christ
:
We believe salvation is available to all people through faith in Jesus Christ. Through His death on the cross and resurrection, Jesus provides forgiveness of sins and restores our relationship with God.
Divine Healing:
We believe divine healing is an essential part of the gospel and is available to believers today through Christ’s atoning work. God cares deeply about our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
:
We believe all believers can receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering them to live victorious Christian lives and serve God effectively. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The Second Coming of Christ
:
We believe in the blessed hope—the soon return of Jesus Christ. At His return, believers will be raised and caught up to be with the Lord forever.
